Devoted dad Scott Taylor will take part in this year’s Reading Half Marathon to raise funds for Our House, in honour of his daughter, Rosie, who is one of our little Ladybirds.
Fitting in training around parenting and his work in police firearms, Scott is driven by the love for his three-year-old and cites Our House as a place where the father-daughter duo feel welcome and accepted.

Support from colleagues and sponsors has also kept the campaign going and so far Scott has raised a stunning £1,800.
“Supporting Our House made perfect sense really as I utilise your Ladybird sessions, for my daughter Rosie (diagnosed at age three with Autism and global developmental delay)," he said.
“It’s a little daunting going in as a dad on my own, but I found the staff really welcoming and they made me feel comfortable and more importantly Rosie loves it!!”
March 23rd marks the first Half Marathon attempt for the novice runner and he is putting his all into the preparation.
“I’ve never done a half before .....I'm not much of a runner!
“However, I do have to stay fit for work (police firearms) so doing this training has been a bit of a blessing keeping me fit at the grand old age of 45!!
“Training has gone pretty well really. I have ran the distance of the half. I’m just working on quicker 5...10 and 15K's. It’s hard to balance around shift work and being a single dad but doing it for Rosie gets me out the door for sure.”
